Allegory Of The Cave Sonnet

As I finish reading The Allegory Of The Cave,
It started to get me thinking,
 The concept was quite interesting,
And the new thoughts that it gave.
I thought about the allegory itself,
About learning and how we're taught,
How learning is about learning someone's certain view or thought,
And not having certain ideas or views from ourselves.
What if we based off learning from ideas Plato gave,
 Would this idea enlighten us,
Make us better learners and students,
And be able to escape the cave?
Hopefully this could makes learning a little more bright,
And escape the cave and see the light.

  1. Haha, your sonnet was the most unique one I have come across so far. I really liked the end. It shows a lot of character.

Also, killing two birds with one stone... Your blog is simple, but some say simple is the best! What is your strategy for the vocabulary final? I don't think I have to leave my URL. haha

  6. I think they rhyming scheme was a little off, if this was supposed to be a Shakespearean sonnet. Other than that nice way to sort of take the obvious and make it artistic, in a cool way. It's like an allusions within the plain. Once again, the cave is mentioned, a common theme of many of the sonnets.

Anyways nice blog, I like the background, music suprised me. Didn't know it where it was coming from lol.
Immana be honest about the vocab final, I probably won't study, but in a random amount of unlaziness I might make a thousand flash cards and flip through them.

Did Charles Dickens have a dog?

  7. Great sonnet Sam! Your rhyming scheme and choice of words were great!

Great blog as well! Your blog is personalized which shows great character in the author! How will you be studying for the final? I'm going to be printing out my lists, studying off of those, and then maybe quizzing myself and others from time to time to make sure that I have them all down. Let me know! http://lvalenzuelarhsenglitcomp.blogspot.com/

  8. I love how you wrote your sonnet in first person, and connected it to your own life and education! It's a unique approach that I think worked really well :)

I have to mention, it looks like you tried to combine the Petrarchan and Shakespearean forms in your sonnet. Is that what you were going for? If not, I did some extra research on the different rhyme schemes in a post on my blog, if you're interested in reading it.

My question for you is, how are you going to choose what to do for your final presentation?
